Diploma course in MSK sonography

We welcome all certified medical professionals with an interested in learning the breath taking possibilities with MSK ultrasonography for diagnosis in a clinical everyday context.

The specific purpose of the course is to give you a broad base with profound knowledge to use ultrasound for diagnosis in MSK indications.

The course will lead to a Diploma in MSK Ultrasonography.

The educational program is divided into 4 stages, each consisting of 2 days filled with theoretical and practical training under the guidance of experienced tutors. There is a main focus on practical hands on training, but the course includes a thorough theoretical base as well. We present some live cases, but most of the scanning is performed on your colleges and yourself. This will give an excellent opportunity for feedback between participants. The number of participants never exceeds 3 persons per machine and you are welcome regardless of which brand you are working with in your practice.

Between each stage, you will be given an assignment to start collecting a portfolio of real cases. At the end of your training these cases will be evaluated and a practical and theoretical examination will lead to the right to receive a diploma in musculoskeletal ultrasonography.

The price of each stage is 6000 SEK + VAT (approx. 800€ incl. VAT)

The 4 stages

1. Introduction

Basic knowledge of the method will be introduced such as research, limitations and possibilies, scanning techniques and language including how to write your first notes. Also basic understanding of technical features of modern machines, artifacts and important pit-falls and much more will be discussed.

In this step we will scan normal structures such as tendons and ligaments around all major joints of the body, including ankle & foot, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow and hand & fingers. There will also be a brief introduction to bio-feedback. All protocols follow Standardized European Guidelines. Pathology will be discussed, but for a deeper understanding it is recommended to participate at one of the advanced courses in stage 2 or 3.

The participation in this course does not require access to your own machine since this step would also be suitable for someone who is curious but has not yet decided wether ultrasound is something for you or other skilled colleges. However it is recommended not to wait too long before you start practicing your new knowledge after the course.
